Jose Mourinho approves record transfer bid for Man United to sign star midfielder – report
Manchester United have made a £60m transfer bid to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus this summer, say reports
Jose Mourinho has instructed Manchester United officials to table a British record £60m transfer bid to bring Paul Pogba back to the club, according to reports.
Attentions have inevitably turned towards the summer transfer window and Mourinho’s plans to revamp his squad ahead of his first season in charge.
The Portuguese coach was appointed as the club’s new manager on a three-year contract last week and is already believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings.
Pogba has long been linked with a move back to Old Trafford after he left the club to join Juventus on a free transfer back in 2012.
Now, The Sun is reporting that Mourinho has given the green light for United to table a huge £60m bid for the midfielder to lure him back to the Premier League.
The same report says that United’s bid is worth an initial £48m fee plus £12m in additional payments based on United’s success and Pogba’s appearances.
