Jose Mourinho puts Jorge Mendes in charge of completing Man United transfer, according to reports
Jose Mourinho has put his super agent Jorge Mendes in charge of securing Manchester United’s swoop for Breel Embolo, according to reports in Italy.
The Red Devils are thought to be competing with Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach for the Basel man’s signature.
The Swiss champions are reported to value the 19-year-old at around £28m as the new United manager looks to further strengthen his squad ahead of the 2015/16 season.
The Switzerland international scored 12 times in 35 appearances in all competitions for Basel last season as he cemented his rising status in European football.
According to GianlucaDiMarzio.com, Mourinho has placed faith in his long-term super agent Mendes as United look to get a £28m deal over the line in the summer transfer window.
The Portuguese coach was appointed as the new United manager after Louis van Gaal was sacked following a fifth-place finish in the Premier League last term.
