Jose Mourinho to hand Man United man new contract – report
Michael Carrick is set to sign a one-year contract extension with Manchester United, say reports
Jose Mourinho has instructed Manchester United chiefs to hand Michael Carrick a one-year contract extension at Old Trafford, according to reports.
The veteran midfielder’s current deal with the Red Devils is set to expire next month and United are yet to announce a new deal for the player.
Mourinho has already made sure that both Marcus Rashford and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson signed new deals with the club following his appointment as United’s new manager last week.
Now, talkSPORT is reporting that Carrick is set to follow suit by committing himself to the club for another year following Mourinho’s arrival at Old Trafford.
The report goes on to say that Carrick was left in the dark about his future but Mourinho’s arrival is set to lead to him staying at Old Trafford beyond the summer.
Midfielder Carrick has made 421 appearances in all competitions for United during his decade-long spell at Old Trafford.
