Jose Mourinho will make Man United feared again, says ex-Red Devil
Paul Ince backs Manchester United's appointment of Jose Mourinho as their new manager
Paul Ince believes that Jose Mourinho will restore the fear factor to Old Trafford following his appointment as Manchester United’s new manager.
The Portuguese coach has signed a three-year contract to become the Red Devils’ new boss after they opted to sack Louis van Gaal at the end of last season.
Mourinho has already secured his first signing since taking over at Old Trafford with the capture of defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal.
The former Chelsea boss is believed to be working hard behind the scenes at United during the transfer window as he bids to revamp his squad ahead of next season.
Ince feels that the “aura” around United has been fading since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.
However, the former United man feels that Mourinho is the man to bring the fear factor back to Old Trafford and is expecting him to be a big hit at the club.
Ince told the Manchester Evening News: “That aura has gone in recent seasons. Teams could easily take three points at Old Trafford. Nobody was scared when United went to their grounds any more.
“There won’t be another Sir Alex again but Jose Mourinho is the nearest you’ll get. There is nobody better than him. He’s what United have needed.
“You have to be a certain type to cope with being manager at Manchester United. You have to deal with the expectations and be strong. You have to know you are expected to win every match. Jose can live with that. He has the right mentality.
“He looked unhappy at Chelsea this season but appears fresh again. This is made for him. He’ll bring back the mental strength and toughness United players need. Players who are no less than 8/10 every match.”
