The Liverpool manager has intervened in the race to sign Ante Coric, according to Daily Mail
Jurgen Klopp has called Manchester City target Ante Coric as Liverpool attempt to beat their Premier League rivals to the Croatia star, according to reports.
The Dinamo Zagreb playmaker is one of the most-coveted youngsters in Europe after having starred for club and country over the past 12 months.
Coric is currently part of the Croatia squad for Euro 2016 and his national team reached the last 16 on Tuesday thanks to a 2-1 victory over defending champions Spain.
Pep Guardiola’s City were thought to be on the brink of signing the Croatian starlet in a £10m deal from Dinamo Zagreb ahead of the opening of the summer transfer window.
However, according to a report in the Daily Mail, Liverpool manager Klopp has held talks with Coric in an attempt to convince the 19-year-old to turn down the Citizens and move to Anfield.
The Croatian teenager has scored 10 goals in 67 appearances for his current employers, Dinamo Zagreb.
