Juventus line up transfer swoop for Liverpool striker – report
Juventus want to sign Liverpool flop Christian Benteke, according to reports in Italy
Juventus are weighing up a move for Liverpool striker Christian Benteke, according to reports in Italy.
The Belgium international endured a miserable first season at Anfield after the 25-year-old moved to Liverpool in a £32.5m deal from Aston Villa under Jurgen Klopp’s predecessor Brendan Rodgers last summer.
Although Benteke managed to score a respectable nine Premier League goals in the 2015/16 season, the former Genk forward started just 14 of his 29 top-flight appearances.
The out-of-favour Liverpool striker made his first appearance of Euro 2016 after he was an 82nd-minute substitute in Belgium’s 3-0 victory over the Republic of Ireland at the weekend.
According to a report in Gazzetto dello Sport, Serie A champions Juventus are pursuing Belgian trio Benteke, Michy Batshuayi and Romelu Lukaku this summer as the Italian side hunt for a new centre-forward.

Benteke is Liverpool’s second most-expensive signing in the club’s history behind Andy Carroll, who arrived in a £35m deal in 2011.
