Liverpool boost as Man City’s £40m deal for Germany forward stalls – report
Man City have stalled on a deal to sign Liverpool target Leroy Sane, according to Daily Mirror
Liverpool have been offered some faint hope in the pursuit of Leroy Sane with Manchester City set to wait until after Euro 2016 to sign the Schalke forward, according to reports in England.
The Citizens were thought to be on the brink of signing the Germany international earlier this week amid reports that the Eastlands outfit have agreed a deal with the Bundesliga side.
Sane is currently on international duty with Joachim Low’s Germany side at Euro 2016, although the 20-year-old forward is yet to make an appearance at his first major tournament.
Liverpool and Bayern Munich have also been linked with a move for the highly-rated Schalke forward in spite of City leading the race to sign the Germany youngster.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Citizens will wait until after Euro 2016 to complete a deal for Sane which could provide Liverpool with a chance to usurp the City’s transfer bid.
Sane scored eight goals and made six assists in 33 Bundesliga appearances last term.
