Liverpool dealt blow as £12m Portugal defender snubs Jurgen Klopp – report

Dortmund are favourites to sign Liverpool target Raphael Guerreiro, according to Bild

Liverpool are expected to miss out on Raphael Guerreiro as the Portugal left-back edges closer to a move to Borussia Dortmund, according to Bild.

The Lorient defender emerged as a target for the Merseyside outfit as Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp looks to strengthen his left-back options.

Alberto Moreno was heavily criticised for his poor performance in the Reds’s 3-1 defeat by Sevilla in the Europa League final in May.

The 18-time English champions were 5-4 aggregate winners against Dortmund en route to reaching the Basel final.

According to a report in Bild, Dortmund are set to exact some revenge on Liverpool as the Bundesliga club edge closer to signing Guerreiro ahead of Klopp’s Reds side.

The Portuguese defender scored three goals and made two assists in 34 Ligue 1 appearances last season as he caught the eye of a host of Europe’s top clubs.
