Liverpool face competition from Premier League rival for £12m Stuttgart midfielder – report
Southampton want to sign Liverpool target Filip Kostic, according to Daily Mail
Southampton have entered the race to sign Liverpool target Filip Kostic, according to a report in the Daily Mail.
The Saints are currently without a manager after Ronald Koeman took over the reins at Everton earlier this week following Roberto Martinez’s dismissal.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is thought to be eyeing Stuttgart midfielder Kostic in order to bolster his midfield options ahead of the 2016/17 season.
La Liga outfit Valencia were thought to be on the brink of signing Kostic earlier this week but the Spanish side have failed to finalise the transfer.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, Southampton are hoping to beat both Liverpool and Valencia to the signing of the 23-year-old Stuttgart midfielder.
The Serbia international scored five goals and made five assists in 30 Bundesliga appearances for Stuttgart last season.
