Liverpool face Ligue 1 competition for £11m Premier League defender – report

Liverpool are facing competition from Bastia for Jordan Amavi, according to reports

Liverpool are facing competition from Monaco for Aston Villa defender Jordan Amavi in the summer transfer window, according to Daily Express.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to the 18-time English champions in recent weeks as Jurgen Klopp looks to improve his defensive options at the Anfield outfit.

Klopp is thought to be keen to bolster his defensive options this summer in light of their 3-1 defeat by Sevilla in the Europa League final in Basel in May.

Spain left-back Alberto Moreno was heavily criticised for an erratic performance against his former employers Sevilla following a poor domestic campaign.

Liverpool were thought to be keen on Lorient full-back Raphael Guerreiro but the Portuguese star moved to Borussia Dortmund earlier this week.

According to a report in Daily Express, the Reds are facing competition from French club Bastia for the 22-year-old Villa left-back.

Amavi made just 10 Premier League appearances for the Birmingham side last season after a leg break cut short his season.
