Liverpool line up £15.7m deal for 22-year-old midfielder – report
Liverpool are lining up a bid to bring Lille midfielder Sofiane Boufal to the club, say reports
Liverpool are lining up a £15.7m transfer bid to sign Sofiane Boufal from Lille this summer, according to reports.
The Reds are widely expected to be one of the busiest clubs in the summer transfer window as Jurgen Klopp prepares for his first full season in charge at Anfield.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with a bid to lure German World Cup winner Mario Gotze to the club in recent weeks.
However, with that move now looking increasingly unlikely, the Daily Express is reporting that Liverpool are planning a bid to bring attacking midfielder Boufal, 22, to Anfield in a £15.7m deal.
The same report goes on to say that Liverpool have scouted the player at least 12 times in recent months as they ponder a transfer move to bring him to Anfield.
Boufal arrived at Lille from Angers in January 2015 and scored three goals and made six assists in his first campaign at the club.
