Liverpool have made an official approach to sign Kieran Gibbs from Arsenal this summer, according to reports.
The Anfield club are thought to be on the lookout for defensive reinforcements as Jurgen Klopp prepares for his first full season in charge on Merseyside.
England international Gibbs has struggled to break into the Arsenal first-team in recent months after falling behind first choice left-back Nacho Monreal at The Emirates.
Now, football expert Emanuele Giulanelli is reporting that Liverpool have made official contact with Arsenal about the possibility of bringing Gibbs to Anfield.
Giulanelli tweeted on Sunday:

Defender Gibbs has two years left on his current contract with Arsenal but is thought to be open to the possibility of leaving the north London club this summer in search of regular first-team football.
The north London side finished second in the Premier League last season, 10 points behind champions Leicester City in the table.
