Liverpool set to wrap up Serie A star striker signing – report

Liverpool are on the verge of signing Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli, according to reports

Liverpool are on the verge of concluding a deal to sign Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli this summer, according to reports.

The Reds have been linked with a host of players in recent weeks as they prepare for Jurgen Klopp’s first full season in charge at Anfield.

Higuain has long been linked with a transfer to the Premier League and is thought to have come close to joining Arsenal last summer.

Now, however, it appears that Liverpool are ahead of the Gunners in the race to bring the Argentina international to the Premier League.

The Sun is reporting that the Merseyside outfit are on the verge of securing the signing of the former Real Madrid star as they look to bolster their attacking options this summer.

Higuain was in fine form for Napoli last season, scoring 36 goals in 35 Serie A games for the Italian side.
