Liverpool to wait to sign £20m Bundesliga midfielder – report
Borussia Monchengladbach won't sell LIverpool target Mahmoud Dahoud, according to reports
Liverpool may have to wait until next summer to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud, according to Goal.com.
The Reds were heavily linked with an £11.6m deal to sign Empoli and Udinese midfielder Piotr Zielinski earlier in June but a transfer failed to materialise.
Monchengladbach have already lost one player this summer after Arsenal completed a £33.1m deal to sign Switzerland international Granit Xhaka in May.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is thought to be ready to raid the Bundesliga again as he targets Monchengladbach star Dahoud to bolster his midfield.
According to Goal.com, the Bundesliga club aren’t willing to sell another of their key midfielders in the summer transfer window after losing Xhaka to Arsenal.
The 20-year-old would reportedly cost the Reds a minimum of £20m following an excellent season for the German side in the Bundesliga and the Champions League.
The Syrian midfielder scored five goals and made eight assists in 32 Bundesliga appearances for Monchengladbach over the course of the campaign.
