The Gunners will host the Reds at Emirates Stadium on the opening day of the season, Saturday 13 August 2016.

Arsenal will then travel to King Power Stadium to take on Premier League champions Leicester City, before a trip to Watford at the end of the month.

The full list of Premier League fixtures was announced on Wednesday morning, and Liverpool legend Garcia was among the big names to react to the news on Twitter.

The former Spain star tweeted:

Arsenal ended up second in the Premier League table last season, 10 points behind champions Leicester City, and had to settle for a trophyless campaign under Arsene Wenger.

Liverpool, meanwhile, ended up eighth in the top-flight table under Jurgen Klopp.
