Man United boost as £6.2m Portugal winger to reject Serie A move – report
Man United target Nani is set to reject interest from Inter Milan in favour of a return to England, according to reports in Turkey
Nani isn’t interested in a move to Serie A as Manchester United target their former winger, according to reports in Turkey.
The Portugal international scored 12 times in 46 appearances in all competitions for Turkish side Fenerbahce in the 2015/16 season after ex-manager Louis van Gaal deemed Nani surplus to requirements last summer.
The 27-year-old made just one appearance under the Dutchman before he moved to his former employers Sporting Lisbon on loan followed by his £4.25m switch to Fenerbahce.
Nani’s compatriot Jose Mourinho was appointed as Van Gaal’s successor last month after a disappointing fifth-placed finish for the Red Devils, although United did lift the FA Cup.
According to reports in Turkey, the Portuguese star isn’t keen on a move to Serie A despite interest from Inter Milan and is holding out on a return to the Premier League.
The Red Devils could face competition from their Merseyside rivals Everton, who are reportedly ready to activate Nani’s £6.25m contract release clause this summer.
