Man United clear favourites to make star striker Mourinho’s second signing
Manchester United are heavy favourites to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a free transfer, according to the bookies
Manchester United have been installed as the heavy favourites to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the summer transfer window by bookmakers Betway.
The Sweden striker has been heavily linked with a transfer to Old Trafford in recent weeks after he left Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season.
The 34-year-old forward has opted to call time on his international career after Sweden were knocked out of Euro 2016 on Wednesday.
And that has prompted bookmakers Betway to slash the odds on Ibrahimovic moving to United in the summer transfer window to become what would be Jose Mourinho’s second summer signing after the arrival of Eric Bailly from Villarreal.
Betway’s Alan Alger said: “Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s decision to call time on his international career ahead of the Olympics suggests his summer could be dedicated to getting a new club deal tied up.
“Punters piled in on the big Swede moving to Manchester United at 5/4 and we’ve had to shorten that right up to 2/5 – it’s looking more and more likely.”
Celtic are the second favourites to sign Ibrahimovic at 6/1 with Betway.
United are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new players as Mourinho prepares for his first season in charge at Old Trafford.
