Man United close in on second summer signing after new development – report
Manchester United are leading the race to sign Basel forward Breel Embolo this summer, say reports
Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Basel forward Breel Embolo after Red Bull Leipzig pulled out of the race for the player, according to reports.
The Red Devils have been linked with a host of players in recent days following Jose Mourinho’s appointment as the club’s new manager last month.
Manchester United wrapped up their first signing of the summer on Wednesday by securing a deal to land Villarreal defender Eric Bailly.
Attentions are now firmly on United as Mourinho eyes his second summer signing ahead of his first campaign at Old Trafford.
Now, Leipziger Volkszeitung is reporting that Red Bull Leipzig have ended their interest in signing Embolo, who has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent days.
The same newspaper report says that Manchester United are prepared to offer Embolo £4.6m a year to join the Premier League outfit this summer.
