Man United fail with £19m bid for Borussia Dortmund playmaker – report
Dortmund have rejected Man United's £19m offer for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to Daily Mirror
Borussia Dortmund have turned down a £19m bid from Manchester United for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to the Daily Mirror.
The Red Devils were offered encouragement in the race to sign the Armenia international after the Bundesliga club confirmed that Mkhitaryan will not sign a new deal with Dortmund.
The 27-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months with Arsenal and Chelsea thought to be interested in the talented Dortmund playmaker.
However, United emerged as front-runners to sign Mkhitaryan after the midfielder’s agent Mino Raiola confirmed that the Armenian wants to join the Red Devils this summer.
According to a report in the Daily Mirror on Wednesday, United have failed with a £19m bid for Mkhitaryan as Dortmund refuse to budge over their playmaker’s future.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder scored 23 goals and made 32 assists in all competitions for Thomas Tuchel’s Dortmund side last season.
