Man United given green light to complete Jose Mourinho’s first signing – report
Manchester United have been told by Villarreal officials that they can complete the signing of Eric Bailly
Manchester United have been told by Villarreal officials that they can complete the signing of Eric Bailly without any problems, according to reports.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move to sign the defender in recent days as Mourinho looks to bolster his rearguard at Old Trafford.
Mourinho is believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings as he prepares for his first season in charge of the Red Devils.
Reports in the British media over the weekend suggested that the Red Devils were pondering a move to bring Bailly to Old Trafford.
Now, it appears that United’s pursuit of the defender has been given a fresh boost, after Villarreal official Fernando Roig Negueroles said that a deal could go through.
He is quoted as saying by Metro: “There is a team that is very interested and if the three parties agree there will be no problems.
“If the player wants to leave and Manchester want to pay we will reach an agreement.”
Mourinho has been tasked with restoring United to the top of English football after their fifth placed finish last season.
