Man United handed boost in pursuit of Real Madrid star – report

Raphael Varane is reportedly unhappy at Real Madrid amid talk of interest from Manchester United

Manchester United have been handed a big boost in their pursuit of Raphael Varane this summer as the defender is unhappy at Real Madrid, according to reports.

The France international has struggled to break into the Real first team and has largely been left behind Pepe and Sergio Ramos in the pecking order at the Bernabeu.

Manchester United has been touted as a possible destination for the 23-year-old defender, speculation which has further intensified since Jose Mourinho was appointed as manager last month.

Now, MARCA is reporting that Varane is unhappy about his lack of first-team football at the Bernabeu and could be set for a move to Old Trafford this summer.

Mourinho was the man who brought Varane to Real Madrid during his time in charge of the Spanish outfit and the report says that the Portuguese coach could be set to try and bring him to the Premier League.
