Manchester United have had a £28m bid rejected by Roma for Kostas Manolas, say reports
Manchester United have had a £28m bid for Kostas Manolas rejected by Roma, according to reports.
The Red Devils are believed to be on the lookout for further defensive reinforcements this summer despite having already signed Eric Bailly from Villarreal.
Jose Mourinho is thought to be keen to add a number of players to his squad as he prepares for his first season in charge at Old Trafford.
Defender Monalas has been touted as a possible target for United ahead of Mourinho’s first campaign with the Red Devils.
Now, Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli is reporting that Roma have turned down an official bid from United for the defender.
He tweeted:
Roma have refused a £28mln offer for Manolas from Manchester United.

United opted to appoint Mourinho as Louis van Gaal’s successor at Old Trafford following the club’s fifth-placed finish in the Premier League last season.
