Man United make new £30m offer for Jose Mourinho’s first signing – report
Manchester United have increased their offer to sign defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal, say reports
Manchester United have upped their offer to sign Villarreal defender Eric Bailly to £25m plus an extra £5m in bonuses, according to reports.
Reports on Tuesday evening claimed that the player has passed a medical with the club ahead of a proposed move to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings as they prepare for life under manager Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho is thought to be a keen admirer of Bailly and wants to bring the defender to Old Trafford to bolster his rearguard options ahead of his first season at the club.
Now, the Daily Mail is reporting that United are ready to step up their interest in the player by upping their bid to sign him from the Spanish side this summer.
The same report says that the Spanish side are willing to let Bailly leave the club this summer, as they will be making a tidy profit on the player, who they are said to have signed for just £4.4m.
However, Villarreal are said to want more of the £30m fee up front.
