Man United plan to hijack Tottenham’s £10m bid for Dutch forward – report

Manchester United want to sign Tottenham target Vincent Janssen, according to reports in the Netherlands

Manchester United are planning to hijack Tottenham Hotspur’s attempts to sign Netherlands forward Vincent Janssen this summer, according to reports in the Dutch media.

The AZ Alkmaar forward has been linked with a potential £10m move to Premier League side Tottenham in recent days as Mauricio Pochettino looks to provide more competition for England international Harry Kane in the north London side’s squad.

Janssen, who has scored three goals in five appearances for the senior Netherlands team, came to the fore in Europe after an impressive return of 27 goals in the Eredivisie last season, netting over 40 per cent of AZ’s top-flight goals.

According to Dutch website Voetball Primeur, new United manager Mourinho is eager to rival Tottenham for the Netherland international’s signing as the Red Devils look to bolster their squad ahead of the 2016/17 Premier League season.
