Man United star admits he’s yet to hear from Jose Mourinho amid transfer talk
Matteo Darmian reveals that he has not yet heard anything from new Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho
Matteo Darmian has revealed that he is yet to hear from Jose Mourinho about his Manchester United future after suggestions that he could be sold this summer.
The Red Devils moved quickly to appoint Mourinho as the club’s new manager last month after they opted to sack Louis van Gaal.
Darmian established himself as a regular in the Manchester United first team under the Dutchman last season following his transfer to Old Trafford from Torino last summer.
However, there have been suggestions in the media in recent weeks that Mourinho is prepared to offload a number of players this summer, and Darmian’s future looks less than secure.
And the defender, who is currently on duty with Italy at Euro 2016, has revealed that he has not yet heard from the United boss about his future at the club.
Darmian is quoted as saying by Metro: “Today I am a United player. I have a contract and I think I will continue next season. But I have not heard from Mourinho.”
United finished fifth in the Premier League last season.
