The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move to bring the striker to Old Trafford after he left Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.

The 34-year-old striker is currently on international duty with Sweden as he and his team-mates prepare for this summer’s Euro 2016 tournament in France.

Now, the Manchester Evening News is reporting that United are hoping to push through a deal to sign the striker before Sweden’s opener against the Republic of Ireland in France.

Sweden star Ibrahimovic is said to be keen to link up with Jose Mourinho, who coached him during the pair’s time at Inter Milan.

United announced their first signing of the summer on Wednesday with the capture of defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal on a four-year contract.
