Eric Bailly has passed a medical and is set to sign a long-term deal with Manchester United, say reports

Eric Bailly has passed a medical and is due to put pen to paper on a long-term deal with Manchester United this week, according to reports.

Reports on Tuesday evening claimed that the player has passed a medical with the club ahead of a proposed move to the Premier League club.

The Red Devils have been linked with a host of players in recent days following Jose Mourinho’s appointment as the club’s new manager back in May.

Villarreal defender Bailly is understood to be one of Mourinho’s top defensive targets as he bids to strengthen his rearguard options at Old Trafford.

Now, the Daily Mirror is reporting that his transfer to Manchester United before Friday if everything goes to plan, after he reportedly passed his medical on Tuesday.

The same report goes on to say that the Ivorian defender will move to Old Trafford for a fee that could eventually reach as much as £30.4m as he looks set to become Mourinho’s first signing of the summer.
