Jose Mourinho wants to make Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic his first Manchester United signing, say reports

Manchester United are looking to beat Liverpool and Chelsea to the signing of Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Jose Mourinho is understood to be on the lookout for a number of new signings as he prepares for his first full season in charge at Manchester United.

Pjanic has long been linked with a transfer to the Premier League and has been touted as a target for both Liverpool and Chelsea in recent months.

Now, Mundo Deportivo is reporting that Mourinho is keen to lure the 26-year-old to Old Trafford in what would be his first signing as Manchester United boss.

The versatile player scored 10 goals and made 12 assists in Serie A for Roma last season after featuring in 30 games. He also netted twice in the Champions League for the Italian side.
