Man United want to make star playmaker Jose Mourinho’s second signing – report
Manchester United want to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund, the player's agent has said
Manchester United are keen to secure a deal to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund this summer, the player’s agent has confirmed.
The Red Devils have been linked with a host of players since Jose Mourinho was appointed as the club’s new manager last month.
Mourinho has already moved quickly to bolster his defensive options at Old Trafford by securing a deal to bring Eric Bailly to the club from Villarreal earlier this month.
United are thought to be on the lookout for attacking reinforcements, and Mkhitaryan’s agent Mino Raiola has insisted that he will not abandon attempts to push through a deal for his client to join the Red Devils.
Raiola is confident that he can push through a deal for the 27-year-old to become Mourinho’s second signing at Old Trafford and is refusing to give up working to make the transfer happen, despite Dortmund’s reluctance to sell.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Raiola said: “It would be a sin to stop talking.
“I am a positive guy. If I wasn’t confident of reaching some kind of conclusion, I wouldn’t try.
“I am very proud Manchester United want him and the talks are being held in a good atmosphere.
“But at the moment Dortmund are still saying no.”
