Memphis Depay makes vow to Man United fans after Jose Mourinho arrival
Memphis Depay insists that he is more determined than ever to regain his best form for Manchester United
Memphis Depay has insisted that he is more determined than ever to regain his best form for Manchester United under Jose Mourinho next season.
The Portuguese coach signed a three-year contract to become the Red Devils’ new manager last week after plenty of speculation linking him with the Old Trafford job.
Depay has been criticised for his failure to produce consistent performances for Manchester United since his arrival at the club from PSV Eindhoven one year ago.
The Dutch winger failed to perform in long spells for the club and was used as a bit-part player by Louis van Gaal.
However, the winger insists that he is now determined to prove his worth to the club following the appointment of Mourinho at Old Trafford.
Depay is quoted as saying by Sports Mole: The old Memphis, who beat every opponent, will soon be back again.
“I did not play as many games as I hoped and I am obviously disappointed about that. I had different expectations. But I have to deal with that.
“It’s now on to next season. I have to prove my worth during pre-season.”
United finished fifth last season in the Premier League under Van Gaal and also won the FA Cup title.
