New Arsenal signing will be a star in England, says former Gunner
Johan Djourou is backing Granit Xhaka to be a success at Arsenal next season
Johan Djourou is backing Granit Xhaka to have no trouble adapting to the rigours of the Premier League with Arsenal.
The Swiss midfielder became Arsenal’s first signing of the summer transfer window last month as Arsene Wenger moved quickly to bolster his squad ahead of next season.
Xhaka is currently on international duty with his country at Euro 2016 in France, before he will join up with his new Arsenal team-mates later in the summer.
And former Arsenal defender Djourou is backing Xhaka to be an instant success in north London as he adapts to life in England.
Djourou is quoted as saying by the Daily Star: “I think he won’t have a problem. He’s a top-class player with lots of qualities. I think he’ll do Arsenal a lot of good.
“It’s a team with a lot of talent and a lot of class. There are people like Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla – there’s huge competition, but I’m sure that he has the quality to impose himself.
“He brings calmness, his ability to play long passes, precision and aggression.”
Arsenal continue to be linked with a host of other players as Wenger bids to revamp his squad ahead of next season.
