New Man United signing is perfect for the club, says former Red Devil

Quinton Fortune says new Manchester United signing Eric Bailly has all the attributes needed to succeed in England

Quinton Fortune believes new Manchester United signing Eric Bailly has all the attributes needed to succeed in the Premier League.

The Red Devils announced Bailly as their first signing of the summer on Wednesday afternoon as Jose Mourinho moved quickly to bolster his defensive options at Old Trafford ahead of his first season in charge.

The defender has signed a four-year contract with the Red Devils after spending 18 months at Villarreal.

And former Manchester United man Fortune feels that Bailly’s pace and strength will make him well-suited to the rigours of the Premier League.

Speaking to MUTV, Fortune said: “He’s a very good signing.

“The first thing I realised when watching him was that he’s very young – he’s only 22 but the way he was playing, I thought he was more experienced.

“He’s an out-and-out defender who can play across the back four. He’s quick, good in the air and, when he gets the ball down on the floor, he can pass it.

“Not a lot of people will know about him but he’s a good defender. People will need to have some patience at the beginning but he has all the attributes to play in the Premier League.”

United are still believed to be on the lookout for a number of new players this summer as Mourinho bids to revamp his squad ahead of next season.
