New Man United signing sends heartfelt message to Red Devils fans
Eric Bailly has a message for Manchester United supporters...
Eric Bailly has thanked Manchester United’s fans for their support after he became the club’s first signing of the summer on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old defender signed a four-year contract with the Red Devils on Wednesday afternoon as Jose Mourinho moved quickly to add to his defensive options at Old Trafford.
Bailly joins after an 18-month spell at Villarreal, where he established himself as a first team regular.
And the defender admits that he has been thrilled by the welcome he has received from United fans since putting pen to paper on his deal with the club.
Speaking to MUTV, Bailly said: “My message to the fans would be thank you for the great welcome so far.
“I’ve noticed a positive reaction on social media and people are pleased to see me here.
“Being a young player arriving at a big club is great, it’s something that really helps me on the way.
“In return I hope to put a smile on the faces of Manchester United fans with my style of play and what I achieve at the club.”
Manchester United are still believed to be on the lookout for a number of new players this summer as Mourinho looks to revamp his squad ahead of next season.
The Red Devils have been linked with moves for the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Andre Gomes in recent days.
