Philippe Coutinho gives latest update on his Liverpool future
Philippe Coutinho insists that he is unaware about the reported interest from PSG
Philippe Coutinho has moved to play down speculation that he could be set to join Paris Saint-Germain from Liverpool this summer.
The Brazil playmaker has been one of the Reds’ standout performers since arriving at the club from Inter Milan back in January 2013.
The 23-year-old’s future at Liverpool has been a source of uncertainty in recent weeks amid reports that PSG have made a bid to try and lure him to Ligue 1.
However, Coutinho has moved to distance himself from those reports and insists that he is only focused on his current duties with Brazil.
Coutinho is quoted as saying by Metro: “As far as I know, there’s no offer,’ he told reporters.
“I’m here with the national team, this subject is for my representatives.
“More important for me is to be here, focused on the national team and having a good tournament. That’s where my head is.”
Jurgen Klopp is currently preparing for his first full season in charge at Liverpool and is understood to be on the lookout for a number of new signings.
Coutinho and his club team-mates will have to make do without European competition next season after they failed to qualify for both competitions in the Premier League standings.
