Alexis Sanchez reveals his delight at helping Chile win the Copa America for the second year running

Alexis Sanchez has taken to social media to reveal his delight after having helped Chile win the Copa America for the second year running on Sunday night.

The Arsenal forward helped Chile beat Argentina 4-2 on penalties in the final after the game ended goalless after 120 minutes at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The shootout triumph was a repeat of the 2015 final, where Chile beat Argentina 4-1 on penalties.

Sanchez won the Golden Ball award, which his handed to the best player at the tournament.

And the 27-year-old looked to be thrilled as he posed for a picture with both of the trophies after Sunday’s epic victory.

Sanchez posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account of himself in the dressing room after the game and wrote: “I am speechless. I just want to thank my team-mates and all the people who supported us… Now enjoy it’s time to enjoy it Chileans.”

The midfielder will now enjoy some well-earned time off before turning his attentions to pre-season with Arsenal as he bids to help them win the Premier League next season.
