Chelsea captain John Terry dusts off his boots for a kick-about ahead of the new season
John Terry dusted off his football boots for a kick-about on Wednesday afternoon ahead of the new Premier League season.
The Chelsea skipper has been forced to watch England’s miserable European championship campaign from the comfort of his home as Roy Hodgson’s side limped out of the tournament following a 2-1 loss to Iceland.
Terry has already sorted out his future ahead of the new Premier League campaign after he signed a one-year contract extension which will see the 35-year-old centre-half play under new Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.
And the four-time Premier League winner posted a photo of his football boots on Instagram as the veteran Chelsea defender looked to retain his match sharpness ahead of the 2016/17 season.
Terry posted the above photo and wrote on his Instagram page: “What a feeling getting my boots back on tonight ⚽️🇵🇹💨”
Chelsea named Conte as their next permanent manager after Guus Hiddink replaced Jose Mourinho on an interim basis during the 2015/16 Premier League campaign.
The Blues have been linked with a move for Everton centre-half John Stones in recent weeks.
