Granit Xhaka has lifted the lid on some of the Arsenal midfielder's tattoos
Granit Xhaka has lifted the lid on the meaning behind the new Arsenal signing’s body artwork.
The Switzerland international signed a long-term contract with the Gunners last month after Arsenal agreed a £33m deal with Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach for the highly-rated midfielder.
Xhaka became the third-most expensive signing of Arsenal’s history behind current squad members Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez as Arsene Wenger bolstered his midfield ahead of the 2016/17 season.
Arsenal supporters have been afforded a chance to see their new signing in action during Euro 2016 after Xhaka completed 270 minutes in all three of Switzerland’s European championship fixtures.
And the 23-year-old Swiss midfielder has explained the meaning behind some of his body artwork ahead of the new Premier League campaign, including a reference to his fiance Leonita Lekaj.
Xhaka wrote on his Instagram page: “All my tattoos. Crown with a G. Diamond with an L represents my love for my fiance. The rose symbolizes my whole family. I owe them everything. Bob 92 is my best friend and is like family to me. Agon is my cousin who supports me whenever he can and is my role model. #EURO2016 @UnderArmourFC @k_o.brand_kickasso @underarmouruk @underarmourgerat”
The new Arsenal signing scored three goals in 28 appearances in the Bundesliga for Monchengladbach last term.
The Gunners finished in second place in the Premier League last season.
