New Liverpool signing Marko Grujic shows on his affection for Red Star Belgrade
Marko Grujic is set to start his Liverpool career later this summer but the youngster still has plenty of emotional ties to Red Star Belgrade.
The 20-year-old agreed a deal to move to Anfield in a £4.7m transfer in January before the Merseyside outfit loaned Grujic back to his boyhood club Red Star until the end of the season.
Grujic ended the season on a high as he won the Serbian top-flight title last month, captained his boyhood club and scored a wonder goal wearing the skipper’s armband.
The Serbia international made the trip to Anfield for Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea before he visited the Melwood training facilities and the city centre ahead of his summer switch.
But Grujic was still feeling a little sad to be leaving behind his beloved Red Star as he posted an emotional Instagram photo on Wednesday and wrote the following caption:
“Only you in my heart you are , one , the only … my house , my Star , forever !!!”
Liverpool have signed Loris Karius in a £4.7m deal from Mainz this summer.
