New Manchester City signing Ilkay Gundogan is in the UK after his move to The Etihad

Ilkay Gundogan has taken to Instagram to unveil his delight with his new UK life following his move to Manchester City.

The Germany international signed a four-year contract at the Etihad Stadium as the midfielder became the first arrival under new Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

Gundogan was thought to be on the brink of a move to Old Trafford last summer before the injury-prone midfielder committed his future to the Bundesliga runners-up.

Manchester City beat their bitter derby rivals United to the signing of the 25-year-old Germany playmaker in the summer transfer window.

And Gundogan, who is currently sidelined with injury, looked pleased to be in the UK on Monday evening as he posted a photo on his personal Instagram account.

Gundogan posted the above photo and wrote: “Hello from UK! 👋🇬🇧”

The former Borussia Dortmund star scored one goal and made three assists in 25 Bundesliga appearances in the 2015-16 season.
