Arsenal are reported to have triggered the £20m release clause in the forward’s contract as they bid to prise him away from the Premier League champions.

Now, football expert Emanuele Giulianelli is reporting that the north London club have Vardy’s proposed deal drawn up and ready to be signed at their training ground.

He tweeted:

Vardy was one of the Premier League’s standout performers last season as he scored 24 goals in the top flight to help propel Claudio Ranieri’s men to the title.
