Ray Parlour makes bold claim about new Liverpool signing
Ray Parlour lavishes praise on new Liverpool signing Sadio Mane
Ray Parlour believes Liverpool have signed a “top player” after Sadio Mane completed a move from Southampton on Tuesday.
The Senegal international has put pen to paper on a long-term deal with the 18-time English champions after Liverpool agreed a reported £30m deal with Southampton for the forward.
The 24-year-old, who has been previously linked with a move to their bitter rivals Manchester United, scored 11 times and made six assists in 37 Premier League appearances last season.
Mane becomes Klopp’s second signing of the summer after Loris Karius arrived in a £4m deal from Bundesliga side Mainz in May following the end of the 2015/16 Premier League season.
Former Arsenal and England midfielder Parlour admitted that he is a big fan of Liverpool’s latest summer signing before the Reds confirmed the big-money transfer.
“Mane is a top player as well, though,” Parlour told talkSPORT.
“He can play anywhere in the three behind. I think Liverpool have got a really good player there.”
Mane netted 25 times in 75 games in all competitions for the Saints following an £11.8m move from Red Bull Salzburg in 2014.
