Star striker set for Chelsea medical to become Conte’s first signing – report

Chelsea are set to sign Michy Batshuayi from Marseille in a £33.2m deal, say reports

Chelsea are on the verge of signing Michy Batshuayi from Marseille in a £33.2m deal this summer, according to reports.

The Blues have been linked with a host of players in recent weeks but are yet to bring in any new signings ahead of Antonio Conte’s first season in charge at the club.

Batshuayi has been heavily linked with a transfer to the Premier League and is believed to have attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace in recent weeks.

However, The Guardian is now reporting that the Blues are on the verge of completing a deal to bring the Belgium international to Stamford Bridge and that the player is set to undergo a medical with the west London club.

The same report goes on to say that the 22-year-old is set to sign a five-year contract with Chelsea as he is unveiled as the club’s first signing of the summer transfer window.

Batshuayi further fuelled talk of a move to Chelsea by following the club on Twitter.
