The latest on Jamie Vardy’s proposed transfer to Arsenal – report
Jamie Vardy is prepared to keep Arsenal waiting about his proposed transfer until after Euro 2016, say reports
Jamie Vardy is set to keep Arsenal waiting until after Euro 2016 as he ponders a summer transfer to the north London club, according to reports.
The north London side have been heavily linked with a bid to bring the striker to The Emirates in recent days after they reportedly triggered the £20m release clause in the forward’s Leicester contract.
Arsenal are reported to have offered Vardy a lucrative four-year contract to move to Emirates Stadium this summer.
However, with the 29-year-old now on international duty with England in the lead-up to Euro 2016, it appears that he is ready to keep Arsenal waiting.
Now, BBC Sport is reporting that Vardy’s representatives have told Arsenal the striker wants to focus on Euro 2016.
The same story claims that the Gunners have offered Vardy a contract worth £120,000 a week to move to the north London club.
But the striker does not want to discuss a possible move until after this summer’s tournament in France.
