The latest on Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s proposed Man United transfer – report

Manchester United's bid to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be held up by his desire to play in the Olympics

Manchester United’s move to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic has hit another snag – because he wants to play in the Rio Olympics, according to reports.

The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move to bring the Sweden superstar to Old Trafford this summer after he left Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season.

Ibrahimovic is believed to be keen to link up with his former Inter Milan boss Jose Mourinho at United.

However, the Red Devils are still trying to push through a deal to bring the veteran forward to Old Trafford on a free transfer.

Now, The Sun is reporting that Ibrahimovic wants to represent Sweden at this summer’s Rio Olympics, which would rule him out of United’s opening Premier League games of the 2016-17 season.

The same report says that Ibrahimovic is tempted by the prospect of going for gold in Brazil as he bids to add an Olympic medal to his trophy cabinet.
