Tottenham closing in on first summer signing – report

Tottenham are reportedly confident of signing Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama this summer

Tottenham are closing in on the signing of Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama, according to reports.

The north London club are believed to be on the lookout for significant reinforcements this summer as they prepare for a return to the Champions League next season.

The Lilywhites have been heavily linked with a swoop to sign Wanyama from Southampton in recent weeks as they look to bolster their squad.

Now, the Daily Express is reporting that Spurs are now optimistic of completing the transfer due to the uncertainty surrounding Ronald Koeman’s future at Southampton.

The same report goes on to say that Spurs failed in their attempts to bring Wanyama to White Hart Lane last summer but are determined to land their man this year.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino signed Wanyama during his time at the south coast club.
