Tottenham have had a £11.3m bid to sign Vincent Janssen rejected by AZ Alkmaar, according to reports.
Spurs are believed to be on the lookout for attacking reinforcements as Mauricio Pochettino prepares his side for a return to the Champions League next season.
The north London side have already wrapped up a deal to bring midfielder Victor Wanyama to the club on a five-year contract.
Now, it appears the Pochettino has his sights firmly set on strengthening his attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
BBC Sport is reporting that Tottenham have had a bid of 14m Euros turned down by the Dutch club, with AZ reported to be holding out for a fee closer to 20m Euros.
Janssen, 22, finished last season as the top scorer in the league, scoring 27 goals in his first campaign in the Eredivisie.
Tottenham finished in third place in the Premier League last season, behind bitter rivals Arsenal.
