Chelsea suffer blow as wonderkid opts to join Premier League rival – report

Stoke City are leading the race to sign Egyptian starlet Ramadan Sobhi ahead of Chelsea, according to his agent

Chelsea look set to be beaten by Stoke City to the signature of wonderkid Ramadan Sobhi, according to his agent.

The Blues have been linked with a move for the Egyptian teenager in recent weeks as Antonio Conte looks to build for the future at Stamford Bridge following his appointment earlier this year.

However, the 2015 Premier League champions are facing competition from Stoke for the 18-year-old’s signature as Mark Hughes looks to secure the promising signing at the expense of his former club.

Sobhi has already made 63 appearances for Al Ahly in the Egyptian Premier League despite his young age which has alerted Chelsea and Stoke to the teenager’s potential.

According to a report in the Daily Express, Sobhi’s agent has ruled out a move to Chelsea with his client seemingly optimistic that a move to the Britannia Stadium will go through.
