Tottenham to confirm first summer signing after medical – report

Tottenham are set to confirm the signing of Victor Wanyama from Southampton this week

Tottenham are close to announcing the £11m signing of Victor Wanyama from Southampton as their first summer transfer, according to reports.

The north London side are on the lookout for a number of new signings as Mauricio Pochettino prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next season.

Wanyama has been heavily linked with a move to White Hart Lane in recent days as Pochettino looks to bolster his midfield options at the club.

Now, the London Evening Standard is reporting that Spurs are closing in on a deal for the forward after the player underwent a medical at the club.

The same report goes on to say that Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb could be on their way out of Tottenham once Wanyama signs for the club.
