Tottenham transfer target confirms departure from club
Franco Vazquez confirms that he plans to leave Palermo this summer amid reported interest from Tottenham
Franco Vazquez has confirmed that he will be leaving Palermo this summer amid reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs are widely expected to be one of the busiest clubs in the summer transfer window as Mauricio Pochettino prepares his squad for a return to the Champions League next season.
Attacking midfielder Vazquez has been touted as a target for the Lilywhites as Pochettino bids to bolster his squad ahead of next season.
Now, the player himself has fuelled the speculation linking him with a move to White Hart Lane by confirming that he is likely to leave Palermo in the current transfer window.
Vazquez is quoted as saying by Mudo: “I will certainly leave Palermo, but I don’t know my next destination, so I will continue to wait.
“During the next few weeks, I am confident that some kind of offer will arise.”
The 27-year-old Italy international netted eight goals in 36 games for Palermo last season.
Tottenham Hotspur ended up third in the Premier League table last season after being pipped by Arsenal to second place on the final day of the campaign.
