Wayne Rooney: My honest thoughts on new Man United boss Jose Mourinho
Wayne Rooney had this to say after Jose Mourinho's appointment as Manchester United's new manager
Wayne Rooney has revealed his excitement at Manchester United’s decision to appoint Jose Mourinho as the club’s new manager.
The Portuguese coach was finally unveiled as the Red Devils’ new boss last week after weeks of speculation linking him with the Old Trafford job.
Mourinho had been out of work since December following his sacking by Chelsea back in December.
The former Inter Milan boss has signed a three-year contract with United as the Red Devils singled him out as the man to guide the club back to the top of English football.
And Rooney, who is preparing to play under the former Chelsea boss for the first time, has revealed his excitement at Mourinho’s arrival at the club.
Speaking at an England news conference on Wednesday lunchtime, Rooney said: He’s one of the best managers in the world.
“It is exciting times for myself and all the other Manchester United players.”
Mourinho’s appointment came after United opted to sack Louis van Gaal last week following the club’s fifth placed finish in the Premier League table.
